In case anyone's thinking of indulging in the transcription of further
Decatur censuses:
As most of you know, SK Publications is selling cd's with actual
census
images on them, and then donates the cd to the USGenWeb Archives for
uploading for all to access free. John Schunk of SK has made an
additional offer, because he realizes some counties are huge and and the
cost would be high. He says:
"We are willing to do any county and year on CD that a purchaser will pay
for. Of course, the large counties are a problem, but if a group of people
want to pool their
resources, we have offered to supply each of them with the same CD at a
reduced price."
Your county coordinators might be interested in letting their visitors
know of this offer, and in addition have the images available online for
all the visitors.
