I've just received, through the local LDS Family History Centre, microfilms
of the following Decatur Co materials:
1880 census enumeration (by township, alphabetical listing of all persons
with gender and age, grouped by households] - only Adams, Clinton, Fugit
and Washington Townships, the latter excluding the city of Greensburg.
WPA Index of Names of Persons and Firms (1938) covering five histories of
the county: *Harding's History of Decatur County (1915), Beers & Co Atlas
(1882), *Genealogical and Biographical Record of Decatur County (1900),
*Leading Industries of the Principal Places in Decatur (and other) Counties
(1885), *Historical Sketches of Fugit Twp (1901)
Text of the starred items above.
I am happy to look up a few names in each of these, particularly for those
who do not have access to libraries or FHCs where these can be obtained. I
have the microfilms until 14 August.
Other items on the microfilms are a bit more difficult to use for lookups
but, if someone makes an especially cogent case, I might be persuaded.
These include
the Cemetery records of Decatur County (I haven't examined these yet)
a history of schools in the county
records of the IOOF Home in Greensburg 1900-20, and its death records of
the 1930s and 40s
Stock Marks 1822-1871
History of Westport (1976)
Records of Mt Olivet Methodist Church at Alert
Sketches of leading citizens of Greensburg, 1937/1942
Family histories and records, and biographies with genealogical information
(of varying detail): Alley, Myers, Robbins, Seward, Sharpless, Stark,
Simpson Tanner, Tilson, Felix Williams, Robert Woolford, Wright.
Incidentally, the full 1820 IN census is now online at
http://genweb.net/~inripley/1820/census.html I'll link it to the Decatur
GenWeb page.
