Lst week I sent three photocopies of very old photographs of New Point,
Decatur Co., IN to the Greensburg library and asked them to place them in the
New Point folder in the genealogy room.
They were taken in the first decade of the 1900's and one is of a home next
to the railroad track. This was the home of the Blairs.
The second is unidentified other than a line that says "main street" and has
a young boy in it.
The last is of the railroad station at the busiest time. There must be 2
dozen men in the photo. Perhaps one is your ancestor.
Wouldn't it be great if we all photo-copied (95 cents at an office store) our
old photographs and sent them to either the public library in the town or to
the genealogical society in the county?
The personal MAYNARD-HARDING photos will be published one day in a book so
the copies will be there, but if it takes me too long to publish, I may
simply send some photo-copies to the library, along with copies of the wills,
etc..
