Several of us have connections with Shelby Co next door.
Phyllis Fleming, who has been doing exceptional lookup service for both
Decatur and Shelby Cos, has just taken over the Shelby Co GenWeb page and
is rebuilding it at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inshelby/index.htm (I've just
visited the site and note that there's a temporary aberration in the fonts.)
I currently have the 1880 Shelby census index (names only), compiled by the
WPA in 1940, as well as Shelby marriages 1856-1920 and births and deaths
(both quite incomplete) 1882-1920, through the local Family History Centre.
I'm willing to do limited lookups on these for the next couple of weeks,
after which they have to be returned to Salt Lake City.
A recent news item:
Friday May 28, 1999
