Hello, I have researching my Father's line since 1978. SHARP. Many of the
families migrated to Decatur County, Indiana from Pennsylvania and Ohio. I
am most interested in the connective lines . So many I have found but a lot
I have not. This Sharp line starts with the known immigrant William and
Mary (Ayers?) Sharp in 1748. My line runs through their son Isaac and Mary
W(O)olverton Sharp. I do have all of the children of this marriage. This is
the generation that began to move away from Pennsylvania. John Sharp who m.
3 times, 1. Elizabeth A. Elston, 2. Margaret Armstrong, 3. Nancy Young,
came to Decatur County and died there. By his 3 wives he had 14 known
children. He resided in Westport. Of these children several remained in
Decatur some moved on westward. Some of the connective names were: Rozzel,
Talkington, Barnes, Mitchell, Armstrong, McKelvey, Falconberry, Henry,
Foster, McCotter, Hodson, Thompson, Trimble, Burney, Buicourt (this has a
very difficult line to find any information on), and others. I am sorry
this is so long. But if you think you may connect with the SHARP line
through a connective marriage I would VERY MUCH like to hear from you and
compare data. Thank you for your time.
