Joseph Calvin BRADLEY, 77, died Saturday at his home in Rossville after an
illness of about a year. He was born September 12, 1862, in Decatur, Ind. He
came to Topeka in 1882 and attended Washburn College.. He was a former
reporter for the Topeka Daily Capital. He was married Novemebr 24, 1886, to
Ida MAGILL, of Silver Lake. He was the manager of the Thomas Lumber Company
in Rossville and later went into the business for himself. He was also
employed by the Standard Oil Company for twenty years before he retired in
1932. He was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church. He was also a
member of Hesperian Lodge No.11, the A.F.&.A.M., and Amarillis Chapter,
O.E.S.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles D. JOHNSON, and two
grandchildren, Charles and Barbara JOHNSON, all of Topeka.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, at the Rossville Presbyterian
Church. Burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery. The body will lie in state
at Wall Diffenderfer's Mortuary until noon, Monday.
