Early on when this project was discussed I asked a question or two but have
never seen a response. I wanted to know if you are wanting a family "line",
and if so, how far back and how far down you want the generations--or are
you wanting merely the family as found in Franklin Co records. I am in my
mid-80's and if I knew as much about computers as I know about genealogy I
would know exactly what you want when you say you want a GedCom file. You
mention Family TreeMaker and that it will form more than one kind of report.
Today it can export in PDF, which for sure doesn't mess up the format of
something and supposedly can be read by almost any computer. For instance a
descendancy chart forwarded in Word loses format but when exported in PDF
stays complete. A Generation Report shows that it can be changed to GedCom,
but again--please, exactly what do you want submitted--and please don't
simply say again you want a GedCom file. My two family lines there were
intermarried and weren't in Franklin County for too many years, so my report
could be pretty brief or I can take both lines back to the immigrant
ancestor and a generation or two after they were no longer in Franklin Co.
HELP!!!!!!!
