I have copied below an item from Missing Links, Vol 8, No 12 dated 23
March 2003. As you will see, the last paragraph describes the Samuel
Donnell who moved from Nicholas Co KY into Decatur Co IN. The John
Rankin name also was associated with the Donnells and Nicholas Co.
Hopefully someone who is descended from these Donnells will see this and
can retrieve this valuable information.
This item caught my eye because it was this Samuel Donnell to whom
my GrGrGrandmother Jane Morris was indentured in Bourbon Co KY in about
1795 when she was described as about 3 years of age. She had remained
with him and he signed a letter in 1819 stating she was free to marry
and this was filed with the application for the marriage license when
she was ready to marry James Ray in Nicholas Co. The Rays later moved
to Fugit Tp in Decatur Co where they raised their family.

Excerpt from MISSING LINKS -- Vol 8 #12, 23 March 2003
o My mother recently handed down the research of our family
history. In this was a library, which contained the George and
Mary PAGE GODDARD family Bible, Paul E. and Matilda MOORE HAVENS
family Bible, and the handwritten Memoir of Samuel DONNELL. I
seek kin who would like to have these items. I require proof of
kinship by filling in missing information from the item, and
reimbursement of the cost of the Bibles and shipping. Here is
information to help you determine whether you have a connection.
-- George and Mary PAGE GODDARD family Bible: no location
listed in the Bible but four generations are listed with birth
and death dates. George A. & Mary GODDARD embossed on the front.
George A. GODDARD b 1810; Mary PAGE b 1811 m 1833. They had four
children; one son's children are listed. George's parents and
three siblings and Mary's parents and six siblings are listed.
-- Paul E. and Matilda MOORE HAVENS: Paul b 1839; Matilda b
1840 m 1860. They had three children: two died young in
Leavenworth, Kansas, leaving only one daughter.
-- Samuel DONNELL Memoir: Written in the hand of John RANKIN.
Samuel b 1769 and moved to Kentucky. Memoir talks about the
modes of transportation, parents, wife, and life in general for
the time. It also includes information on Indian attacks and
historical information. This is a photocopy of the original.
