The most recent revisions to Indiana House Bill 1184 ("Cemeteries and burial
grounds") are now on-line at:

All of the House's changes to the Bill as of 2/1/2000 are included in this
latest draft, which was ordered "engrossed" on 1/31/2000.
The bill will have its third and final reading before the full House on
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7th. The session begins at 11 A.M. Several dozens bills are
scheduled for vote on 2/7/00 and 1184 will follow HB 1180 "Display of Ten
Commandments on public property", which is likely to generate substantial
debate and media attention. Perhaps the press will linger long enough to pick
up some of the debate on HB 1184.
The full schedule for the 2/7/00 session is posted at:
http://www.state.in.us/legislative/reports/2000/BCALH.TXT
NOW is the time to drop a line to your State Representatives to express to
them your sentiments on the current draft of HB 1184. To access your
Representatives' webpage, which provides e-mail addresses and telephone
numbers, go to
http://www.state.in.us/legislative/leg_staff.html
This bill will either live or die by the vote on Monday. Once it passes the
House, the process will begin anew on the other side of the building when it
is referred to the Senate for review, modification and/or passage.
If you're mystified by the whole process, go to "HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW IN
