80 acres
This land was on the east side of the land purchased from the Fortunes.
The 1850 Census shows Joshua Cobb and his wife Nancy in family 230 of
Marion Twp. Is this the probable father of James K. Cobb who married
Margaret Newman?
Family 231 was Thomas Fortune and Sarah Pugh Fortune. John Pugh also
lives in this household. What is there relation to William Fortune?
Family 232 was a possible widow Mary Ann Newman Linkenfelter age 28 who
married Jmaes Linkenfelter in Decatur Co., IN on December 29, 1842.
There was only one son named John age 5.
Family 233 was Jesse Tremain and Rebecca Newman Tremain who married
April 14, 1850.
Family 234 was John Newman age 65, Rebecca age 45, and Lewis age 21.
Could this be Rebecca Jones who married a John Newman in Decatur Co., IN
on May 26, 1840 or was this a Rebecca Becraft? Since Rebecca not
mentioned in the Miers Quit Claim was she dead before April 24, 1834?
Did John Sr. then marry another Rebecca (Jones)?
More pieces for the puzzle!
