Before I go on vacation, can anyone tell me what the following
line means. It was taken from court records recorded in 1845 in Decatur
Co., IN. To lead into it, my 4th ggrandmother went to court with her
daughter to prove that she was the widow of Jesse Tullis. Prior to this
statement there was a description of Jesse, his birth, his parents, etc. If I
knew what this statement means, it might lead me to more information about
his mother, Mary Humphries. Thanks! Sharon Mang
"... Jesse had been named in a certain article of agreement with Edward
West, Jr. and John Humphrey as securities which was witnessed by Joseph
West." (Decatur County Probate Order Book E, August, 1845)
