Hello to All,
I am new to this list and I am looking for my Great Grandfather who was
listed on the 1930 census along with Violia Colvin whom he must have married
sometime after 1922. He was living in Greensburg and working as a clerk in a Soft
Drink Shop. He was 54 and she was 66. I have been searching for Charley for
over 30 years and he has been quite a character to find. He was married to my
Great Grandmother and they had 4 children. In 1922 she filed for divorce and
the family totally lost track of him. According to the 1930 census he was
living at 124 1/2 Broadway Street. Would love to find out when he married this
Violia and when he died and is buried. If there were any children by this
marriage and any other pertinent information about him. I understand by a letter
that was written in 1940 that he may have been in some kind of finical trouble
but cannot substantiate that.
My Grandmother before she died wanted so much to find her daddy because she
had not seen him since she was 12 years old before her mother placed her in an
orphanage in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Charley was born in August of 1876 in Whitley Co., IN to Henry Colvin and
Hannah Ellsworth.
Any help in finding any information on Charley would be most appreciated.
