John KERSEY Jr had an estate, settled by Noah KENDALL. The Probate
Order Books should say if the estate was solvent or not. If it was
solvent, then it would most probably have been necessary to appoint a
guardian for the infant heirs.
There should be an index of guardianships in the Clerk's Office at the
Decatur Co Courthouse. Many times, the female heirs would marry prior
to age 21, and this would be noted, including the name of their husband,
in the guardianship papers.
