Hello List,
I have been stone walled for a long time on this woman, and I would like to
enlist the help of my fellow Buckeyes, and neighbors.
Olive Locke Weston/Wesson was born in MA aroung 1750. She married Levi
Weston/Wesson in 1771. They had 12 children: *Susannah 1771, Olive 1773,
*Patience 1774, Aaron and Levi (twins) 1776, *Humanity 1778, Olive 1780,
Experiance 1781, Jubal 1786, Samuel 1787, *Ethan Allen or Alfred 1789, and
*Martha Patty 1791. Somewhere around 1809-1815, the family, along with
several of their children and their families, Levi and Olive moved into
Butler county, Ohio. * Indicates thoes children known to have made the move
with them. I am told that they lived on or near the site where Oxford
University now sits.
Around 1826, Levi moved into Greensburg IN, without Olive. I believe that
she died in OH and is buried somewhere in Butler or Hamilton county. I have
a pencil date as 5 March 1826, but nothing to back that up with. I also have
note that Ethan died in Butler county with pencil date as 4 Aug 1881. My
original notes on the family have Olive's death in IN, but she is not with
Levi, so I am not sure. All of these notes were made by my mother or
myself, before we realized the importance of documentation.
Can anyone help me to find out exactly when and were they died, and burial
place?
Susannah married a Stimson/Stimpson, and though she died in NY on the way to
Ohio, her husband and child (Martha Kelly b. 1808 NY) continued on in to IN
and IL. Patience married a man by the name of Mansfield. Humanity married
Amelia Aldrich. Ethan married Nancy ? . Martha Patty married John Corbett
and then married Elisha Fay.
I would like to find any cousins who are still around the area.
In 1926, there was an article written for the DAR concerning the bible of
Levi Weston. I do not know for sure, but I believe that it was written by
someone descended from these children, strongest clue leads me to believe
that it was one of Susannah's descendants. I would like to get a copy of
this publication, as well.
I know that this is a lot of "wants", but I would appreciate any help that I
can get!!!
Thanks so much!
Margo
