Thank you for this information. I was not aware that Illinois had a
statewide on-line database for marriages between 1763-1900. Even though
they don't show up on it, I will follow through and order the film from the
Family History Center.

Since you have the date, a stop by the Decatur County Courthouse would
quickly determine if such a marriage was recorded. Or get the Mormons'
film of the record book. Looks to be Book 1, Film 1516617.
