Hi, I just was looking up the Wratten Murders and found your posting. I grew up in
Washington and had limited knowledge of the case. One of my parents friends father was
sheriff at the time. We were out to their home for dinner and they provided a True
Crime??? magazine that had covered the case. I am not sure if it was True Crime but it
was similar. Also, the mines in Washington area were all Coal Mines. My grandfather and
father sunk the shaft to the Sunnyside Mine. There was considerable mining in the area.
I am not familiar with the gas plant Unless it was the generating plant located at the
city park. In addition, if you look at Google Earth and do a search for Bedford Road.
That road is just north of the high school and goes east. Follow it to the east and it
will work its way to Montgomery. Just keep heading East. It will branch, but go east or
if you do a search for Montgomery the road will parallel Hwy 50 and it is located 2-3
miles north of HWY 50. Y!
ou could then work your way back to the west and you will be on the Montgomery Road. I
don't see any of my relatives in your list. Behle is my name and we are related to
Wallaces and Veales plus others. Thanks and if you have any questions you can email me
at larry.behle(a)airhop.com or call 317-650-6315 cell. Do you have any relatives buried in
the Roman Catholic Cemetery or the City Cemetery? I have a sad story to tell about those
places. I have a copy of the cemetery roster for the R.C. Cemetery if it would help you.
Hope this helps. Larry
