researching?
The library is the best place to go..they have cemetery books, and
newspapers on microfilm..they have the basics of what you need..then go to
the court house for land and will records..but they don't offer to help
you with anything.
My experience with the court house staff was extremely positive. They
offered to get down books, they made copies for me, they helped me find a
cemetery on the map. One kind lady spent 20 minutes or more trying to help
me find a will. The library was very helpful as well. One member of the
staff had even looked up things for me before I even got there, without any
request from me. I had asked her a question before I left home, and she had
two pages of references for me when I got there. Everyone I interacted with
was very nice and gracious and represented Washington extremely well. I look
forward to another trip there someday.
