Hi Marilyn,
No I've never been in Ladies Home Journal. I'm infamous for other reasons. (; lol
Oops! I meant to type in JOHN Felix Raney. Of course, James was your ancestor!
I have a question about something you had posted a while ago saying that John Felix's
wife Mary was the daughter of of James O'NEAL and Nancy NESBITT O'NEAL HALL) Do
you have a source for this?
In the 1850 census there is a Mary Raney age 80 living with James and Mary Holland Raney.
I am guessing that this is his mother Mary Joan Sheehan Raney. What do you think? (that
would mean she was born in 1770)
I just came across this:
Jeremiah Raney served in the Revolutionary War during 1777 as a volunteer from Maryland.
He is found in the archives of Maryland muster rolls 1775-83 Volume 18 War of American
Revolution 1775-83 Miscellaneous Maryland Line Papers page 330. Jeremiah Raney is listed
as missing Oct. 6 1777 while serving a three year enlistment.
I came across a note in my file saying that Mary Joan's mother had gone with them to
Indiana and remarried there. No source.Have you ever heard this?
Thanks, Elizabeth
