Hello, I found in the U.S. City Directories in 1866 Louisville, Ky. a Catherine Bradley,
widow of Richard, lived at 190 Pocahontas. I'll keep looking for more info. Donna

My husband's grandfather, Henry Bradley, was an orphan, brought to St. Thomas
Orphanage in Bardstown, KY in 1867. His father was Richard Bradley and his mother was
Catherine McCrann. Information has been very scarce, but I did find Catherine McCrann
witnessing the marriage of Mary McCrann and Thomas Holland at the Cathedral of the
Assumption in Louisville, KY in 1853. I am guessing that Mary and Catherine were
sisters. Later that same year, Catherine McCrann married Richard Bradley just over the
river from Louisville in New Albany, IN. Henry thought that his father worked on the Ohio
River and was killed in an accident
there. We have no idea where he was from, and we do not know what happened to
Catherine. According to the orphanage records, she was living when the boys were brought
to St. Thomas, and they had two aunts and uncles living in Louisville. The death
certificates of Henry and his older brother, John, show their mother's place of birth
as Ireland. Do you !
have any more information that might help me to find out what happened to Richard and
Catherine McCrann Bradley?
