Death Takes W.E. Wimmenauer
Walter E. Wimmenauer, 62 years old, 1008 1/2 West Walnut St. died at the Bynum Nursing
Home at 6:25 a.m. Sunday after a serious illness of eight weeks. He had been in failing
health since 1957. Mr. Wimmenauer, a retired B&O blacksmith, was born September 30,
1902 in Washington,the son of Jacob and Alice (McLin) Wimmenauer, and was educated in the
local schools. He was a member of St. Mary's church, Knights of Columbus and
Brotherhood of Boilermakers and Blacksmiths. Mr Wimmenauer was married in January 1926 to
Margaret Schwander, who died Apiril 25, 1952. He leaves two children: Mrs.Robert (Mary)
Riney, city and Mrs.Charles (Virginia) Starling, Indinapolis; seven grandchildren and two
brothers, Claude Wimmenauer of this city and Herman Wimmenauer of Indianapolis. The
funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's church with burial in St.
John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee and York Chapel. The parish and St.
Vincent DePaul Society will pray the rosary at 7:30 p!
.m. Monday and the K. of C. will pray the rosary at 8:15 p.m. Monday. (d.o.d.Feb. 28,
