I have a dilemma that I can't seem to find an answer
to, so am hoping someone out there might have a
suggestion for me.
I have been researching my Brazzle family on and off
for a long time and about 25 years ago a 'cousin'
sent me copies of her genealogy work in the form of
a 5 page typewritten family tree. She was quite
elderly and sick and we corresponded only a few
times before I was unable to get any more answers. I
assume she died.
Now, my dilemma. In her research, she says that
William Brazzle shows up in the 1830 census for
Daviess Co and 1840 Green Co and the 1850 Green Co.
His son Joshua is listed in all three census' also.
She then says that "apparently 2 brothers joined
them in 1850. The census lists Joseph Brazil and
wife Hannah. with children Hannah and James. Also
listed is Samuel Brazil and wife Nancy J. with
children Morrison, Malinda, Rhoda, Delilah, Rose
Ella and Nancy J."
I have checked the census indexes and cannot find a
Joseph or Samuel Brazzle--- under any spelling....
I have even read the entire Green and Daviess Co.
census line by line to try to find them.
What am I missing? She didn't make them up out of
the air. She found them somewhere but for the life
of me I can't find them. She was very thorough in
her research and I have not found any discrepancies
in her work so I must be overlooking something.
Are there any off year census' for Indiana-- like an
1855 or 1845?
Any suggestions would really be helpful,
Karen
