I am looking for information relating to my gg-grandfather, Josiah Wallace
who was in Daviess, Co., IN as early as 1812 along with a John Wallace. These
are not to be confused with a Rev. John Wallace with a son named Josiah that
were also early residents of Daviess Co.
My Josiah married Elizabeth Magill Walker in Dec. 1818 and had died prior to
3 July 1819 when his estate was put in probate. He left a widow, Elizabeth
Wallace, and a son also named Josiah. This widow Elizabeth Wallace married
William Sparks in 1829. Just to add to my confusion (I'm sure), there was
also another widow Elizabeth Wallace in this time period, that married a
Stephenson.
My g-grandfather, Josiah #2, married Anna Grimsley in Knox Co., IN 6 Feb.
1844 and was in Keokuk Co., IA by the 1850 census.
Any help with this obscure Indiana Wallace branch would be greatfully
appreciated.
