I can verify part of this message. I visited Gill funeral Home about
a year ago, looking for an 1885 record. The gentleman to whom I
talked said that they didn't have records back that far.

I know of no funeral home records in Daviess Co. In, as early as
1860. The earliest "funeral home" I have heard of was a furniture
maker as well (eventually became Gill Funeral Home) and was
established about 1874?. I do not believe there are early records
available from this business.
I do not think Henry and Minerva Cobb were buried in Daviess Co. In
1860 Minerva and her three sons are living in Gentry Co., MO (Cooper
Twp.). Henry is not in the household.
Minerva is recorded in Gentry Co., MO through the 1880 census living
(1880) with her son, Henry C. Henry C. Cobb(s) is still in Gentry
Co., MO in 1900.
Good luck with your search.
