Benj. Hill, 73, Dies Following Long Illness
Native of Kentucky Died at Home Early This Morning.
An Illness of several months ended in death at 6:30 o'clock this morning for Benjamin
F. Hill, aged 73, living on West Van Trees Street. Mr. Hill ws born in Meade County,
Kentucky, July 3, 1855 the son of James and Anna (Livers) Hill, several years ago he came
to Washington and spent the remainder of his life here. Taken ill last April, Mr. Hill had
slowly failed in health until two weeks ago he became serious. Since that time death was
not unexpected. Mr. Hill was a member of Aikman's Creek Baptist church. Surviving
besides the widow, Mary C Hill, are the following children; Frank, Oran, John, Fonrose and
Bryan Hill all of Washigton; Betty Ingram of Maysville; Bennie Hill of South Washington,
and Lillian Laws of King City, Cal. The follwing brothers and sisters also survive;
Anthony Hill of Little Rock, Ark, Mrs. Anna Riley of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Lucy Borders
of Louisville. Mr Hill married Mary C Parks on February 15, 1881 and to this union nine
children were born, one p!
receeding the father in death. Mr Hill had resided in Daviess county since he was eight
years of age. The body will be at rest at the home of his son John G. Hill, 805 McCormick
Avenue until the hour for the funeral, which will be held at Aikman's Creek church
with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
