Geo. T. Rutledge Died At Home of Daughter
Highly respected Veale Township Farmer Died After 3 Months Illness
George T. Rutledge, 78, resident of Daviess county for more than 50 years, died at the
home of his daughter Mrs Ralph Allison in Wheatland at 1:30 o'clock this morning. Mr
Rutledge had been ill for three months and seriously ill for one week. Deceased had been a
farmer in Veale township until his illness prevented. He was born in Kentucky, the son of
Matthew J and Susan Beard Rutledge and came to Daviess county when he was 25 years of age.
He was married to Lillian H Parks who preceded him in death on Sept 13, 1943. Five
children were born to the union, one of whom is deceased. Surviving children are Fred
Rutledge, Washington township, Waughnetta Allison and Vera Hedrick, Wheatland, Sue M
Buckley, Dayton, Ohio. Six grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. Brothers
and sisters are Mrs. Millicent Price of Texas, Charles, Clem, Lee and Luther Rutledge all
of Kentucky and Samuel Rutledge of Charleston, Ind. A member of Aikman's Creek Baptist
church funeral services w!
ill be held there Sunday afternoon at 2 with Rev. William R Seat in charge with burial in
the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Gill chapel where the body will remain
until the hour of the funeral.
The deceased child was per file cards on Aikman Creek Cem Nancy E Rutledge who died Aug
1896 at the age of 1 year.and she is buried in Aikman Creek Cem Daviess Co. Ind.

Records. Found him listed in 1870 Adair Co. Ky Gradysville Dist age 4 in Mathew and Susan
Rutledge household.
