Jabez A. McCord was a Daviess County Indiana sheriff from 1898-1900 Vol I of Ly. Rex Myers
, Daviess County Historian,Daviess County History Book, Vol I & II, published by
Turner Publishing, Paducah KY. Jabez is listed again among the sheriff's which goes
from 1818-1983. I can copy these pages and mail them to you if you provide a regular mail
address.
Rachael is listed on page 67 vol II as List of ladies of the GAR, Great Circle No 19,
Ladies of the Grtand Army of the Republic.
Page 213 Vol II..."On January 10, 1919 word was received that Crystal McCord age 21
of Washington, a Red Cross Nurse died of pneumonia in Toul France on Dec 18, 1918. She
was given a military funeral and buried in her red cross uniform. On June 23, 1919
Rachael McCord SE 7th St, received her duaghter's personal effect."
