DEATHS:
Mrs. Verillie Brown.
Mrs. Verille Brown, daughter of the late Allen McCafferty, died at 2 o'clock Wednesday
afternoon of tuberculosis. Mrs.Brown died at the home of her mother, Mrs Allen McCafferty,
with whom she had been making her home. She was 27 years old and was born in Veale
township, September 21, 1896. She married Curtis Brown, the union resulting in the birth
of a son. Her mother and six -year-old son are the immediate relatives surviving her. Mrs
Brown was a member of the Mt. Gilead Methodist church. Funeral services were held at the
Mt. Gilead church at 3 o'clock this afternoon and burial took place in the adjoining
cemetery.
Lowell Dexter Brown died Friday June 29, 1934 his obit is in The Washington Democrat June
29, 1934 he was born June 6, 1918 and he is also buried in Mt Gilead Cem per his obit..he
isn't listed in the index cards to small cem or in the cemetery records book..unmarked

VEALE TOWNSHIP ORPHAN DIES AT McCAFFERTY HOME
Lowell Dexter Brown, 16 orphan son of the late Curtis and Verllie (McCafferty) Brown of
Cumback died this morning at 10 o'clock after an illness extending since the time of
his birth, which was June 6, 1918. He had been seriously ill for two days. There are no
brothers or sisters and the parents have been dead a number of years. The orphan had been
at the home of the grandmother. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 4:30
o'clock at Mt Gilead church, with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Elwood Williams
had charge of the funeral.
PS: I am including Boring & Horrall in the surnames as "Mrs. Allen
McCafferty" was Temperance Boring, dau. of John Boring and Maria Horrall
