I would presume that the unusual spelling of "Josephean" is because it
is Latinized in the church records. Some children recorded as Jacobus
are mistaken as being named Jacob, but that is Latin for James, for
example.

We had James and Susan's first three children but not the latter four. Do you have
more dates for their births? And can I ask the source of the info about them? Sounds like
you have church records if you have baptism sponsor's.
What about that unusual spelling of Josephean; is there documentation for that? My wife
is descended from this couple through Mary Frances's daughter, named either Martha or
Josephine. In her later life in California, they knew her as Josephine (and only assumed
that spelling), but in Indiana census records she is "Martha J."
