"ANDREW McCALL DEAD. HEART FAILURE THE CAUSE.
Andrew McCALL, one of the best known citizens of Bogard township, and in the county,
dropped dead Tuesday morning in the barn lot of his home while superintending the loading
of a drove of hogs. Heart failure was the cause and his sudden demise caused quite a
shock to his family and friends.
Mr. McCALL, who was born near the place where he died seventy-four years ago, was
apparently in the best of health, offering no complaint to anyone. The family arose early
because of the fact that part of the farm's stock of hogs was to be sold that day.
Mr. McCALL was about with the farm help and standing near the hogs and without an
utterance of any sort, he dropped to the ground. Friends rushed to his side in a moment
and the lifeless body was carried into the house.
Mr. McCALL was married to Miss Mary PEACHEE and to this union several children were born,
only one surviving the father, Austin McCALL. He was a hard working farmer and
accumulated much property. The widow and the son are the only heirs at law. Other than
these two near of kin, Mr. McCALL leaves one brother, John McCALL of Terre Haute, and
numerous relatives of minor connections. He was active in the things of public good in
Bogard township, and a democrat in politics although he never held a public office of any
sort.
Mr. McCALL was a member of the United Brethren church at Bethel. The funeral was held at
the residence Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wm. Todd in charge and burial was made in the
cemetery at that place."
