We don't know who were the parents of my ggg grandparents, Jeremiah (RINEY) RANEY and
Mary Joan (SHEEHAN MOORE) RANEY.
The Yearbook of the Society of Indiana Pioneers, lists Jeremiah and Mary Joan RINEY.
Family lore says, Jeremiah RINEY was possibly a brother of Felix RINEY, but I have no
proof of that.
Clement RANEY, Jeremiah RANEY and Joseph RANEY are in the 1820 census, Perry Township,
Martin Co, IN. Spelling changed to RANEY for them and other RINEY's. WHO ARE THE
SPOUSES AND CHILDREN OF THIS CLEMENT and JOSEPH?
Jeremiah and Mary Joan have 3 sons in their household in 1820, probably John Felix,
Alexander and my gg grand James Virgil RANEY. James Virgil married Mary Helen (HOLLAND) in
1839 in Daviess Co, IN. my great grandparents John Allen RANEY and Martha Jane (JOHNSON)
married in 1870 in DCI. They had 11 children. My grandparents, Homer Thomas RANEY and Mary
Dot McCORD married in DCI in 1905. They also had 11 children, most were born in the Kansas
City area.
