This murder is described in 25 pages of L Rex Myers' Daviess County History Book Vol
I. It carries pictures of Bud Stone, prosecutors, judge, clerks and attorneys.
"Many of the houses used in this event have bene gone many years. The Wratten house
burnt May 29, 1923. A 2nd house was built on the site but also burned. The Wratten site
is now a vacant pasture. Mr Bernard Abbott currently owns the former site of the Wratten
House. The Wratten house site is currently marked by two large metal water tanks. the
James Stone residence is long gone. The site of the Bud Stone is marked by a large
crooked beech tree located at the north edge of a high bank. the Bud Stone house was
about 1/4 mi due SE from the Denson Wratten home."
Site also carries photos of Wratten monument and a map of daviess Co showing location of
residences etc.
