Julie Anna Rice, wife of Edward B. Nolley, may be related to Sarah Rice who
married Samuel Bird in Daviess Co, Ind. All born about mid 1830's. Can
anyone confirm?
Samuel Bird's children, three girls, were put in the care of a guardian,
Elias Myers, Jr., (Meyers) an uncle, in late 1868. I have the abstracted
court records of those proceedings involving the care of Margaret E., Mary
Eliza, and Nancy Ann Bird, the minor heirs of Samuel Bird. Edward B. Nolley
was also a guardian of the children and shown as an uncle.
The two men that were guardian of the children were uncles of the children.
The relationship of these two uncles was probably through the Rice family
since the wife of Samuel Bird was Sarah Rice and Julie Anna Rice, who was
probably her sister, was the wife of Edward B. Nolly.
Sarah Rice Bird may have married Elias Myers after the death of Samuel Bird.
Her name may be Sarah Eliza Rice. It may be her Daviess Co. marriage record
that is shown in 1868, Eliza Bird to Elias Myers, Jr.
Can anyone ID these Rice girls? Parents, Grandparents? The Bird family had
ties to the Rice family since around 1800 in Washington County, Kentucky.
I would bet that these Rice family ties may go back to Moses Rice who was
tied to the Birds and Cambrons in the late 1790's in Washington, Co. Ky.
Thanks
