Leona P Farren
Mrs. Leona Pearl Farren, 65, 19th and Maxwell Ave. died at 8 a.m. today at the Daviess
County Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill the
past month. She was born July 1, 1915 in Daviess County to John and Pluma (Bush)
VanWinkle. She was a member of the Montgomery United Methodist Church. In 1939 shemarried
William J Farren and he survives. Also surviving are three sons, Robert L Farren,
Cannelburg, John W and James T Farren, Washington; two daughters Mrs Lawrence (Margaret)
McDonald, Vincennes, and Mrs Carolyn Nail, Washington; and 15 grandchildren. Two sisters
and two brothers survive, Mrs. Helen Nail, Washington, Mrs. Ruth Rinehart, Vincennes,
Charles VanWinkle, Bloomington, and Anderson VanWinkle, Greenville, Ind. Two sisters and
one brother preceded her in death. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Montgomery
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Robertson as minister. Burial will be in
Bethany Cemetery. Friends may c!
all at the Poindexter Funeral Home. in Washington after 7 p.m. Saturday. The casket will
be taken to the church at noon Monday
