I used this web site when it was first posted by John Ragle, but
lately I have discovered I can't find the land grant information
anymore. Have they changed the site layout? Has anyone used it
recently? It is no longer self-expanatory...
Thanks,
Susan

This totally cryptic message which recently appeared on INDAVIES-L
actually refers to the Bureau of Land Management web site and to land
sale records for those parcels that moved directly from the government
to a purchaser. There are wonderful resource materials available for
Indiana pertaining to early pioneer purchases. I have found records for
my ancestors from Daviess and Martin county, which (together with the
national grid system) indicate a lot about where these ancestors farmed
and lived. A good place to start in the BLM records is with

self-explanatory.
Good hunting; John Ragle
