Many of the pre-Civil War Irish immigrants arriving in Daviess County came from County Longford. Does anyone know or have a theory what the connection between the two areas was or may have been?

No, I don't think so. The link above has the listing that seems to be complete with the the markers seen today. I've visited Pleasant Hill several times and not seen any Jones markers.
There are number of cemeteries in the area. If you have access to a genealogy library, there is an excellent set of books with Daviess County cemetery transcriptions.

Dear Rick,
I saw your note about the cemetery. I was wondering if a Leslie B. Jones and/or his wife Emma B. Jones were buried there? All I know is that his Social Security death index indicated that Odon was his last residenc.
Sincerely,
Sharyn Fuller (sbisbey55 at aol.com)
