It has been a long time since I have done any reseach on my Patterson Line, but I would like to join in. Joseph F. Patterson is my gg-grandfather and I descend through his son, Ralph A. Patterson. He moved his family to Okmulgee, OK in early 1900's. Glad to exchange any info...Cathy Hendon

Is the George Patterson, Jr. you mention the same George who in 1991 sent my mom a brass coin that reads, "Good for 5 c in Trade" on one side and "Patterson Pharmacy" on the other? Her grandfather, Joseph Francis Patterson was the owner of the pharmacy. I believe her father William Joseph, b. 1883, worked in the pharmacy before moving to Indianapolis with his family about 1913. I don't have much information on the "Maryland League" that wasn't already on the internet. But we can compare what data we have.

Yes Elisabeth "Betsy" Patterson was a sibling to William Pius Patterson, Sr. She is my2nd Great Grandmother. I received the information on her from my Thrid Cousin Once Removed, George Bernard Conolty Patteron, Jr. He has lived his life in Loogootee, Martin County, Indiana. He only had her name who she married and the fact that she was born in Martin County, Indiana. Would love to follow up on your line to see if I have everyone. Marianne Hart hartirish(a)triad.rr.com

Hi Marilyn,
You are right! Typo on my part. I would love to know more about that side of the family and so would my mother. Here's what I do know:
Bridget and James V. married and had 4 children. The oldest, Mary Frances (1903), was my mother's mother. She went by Frances. She had younger brothers Robert (1908), Charles (1910) and John (1915). I knew my great-uncle Charlie when I was a kid. He lived alone, don't know if he was ever married. He would write my mother long letters full of his medical ailments. I never knew Bob or John, but I do know that Bob was married to Lois B. Holt and we would visit her whenever we were in Indiana. Bob passed away in 1963. John was a tragedy. As a teenager he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was hospi9talized for the rest of his life. He died in 1975 at the age of 60.
My grandmother met my grandfather when he was in medical school. His roommate, Martin Strange, took him to his hometown, Loogootee, IN and introduced them one summer during their school break. Frances and Martin knew each other because they had played in a dance band together.
When my grandfather, Lynn L'Ecuyer finished medical school they married and moved back to Kansas where he was from. The small town of Greenleaf offered to buy them a home if he would set up his practice there. That is where my mother (Sharon L'Ecuyer) was raised. She moved to Kansas City to go to nursing school and met my father (James Biersmith)there. They remained in Kansas City and raised me and my 4 siblings there.
I currently live in Houston. I would really enjoy filling in more holes of our family history. My cousin spent a few months traveling around the US and Canada tracing both sides of my mother's family, but found more information about the L'Ecuyers - I think because there were still several living from the older generations.
I can be reached either by e-mail: denisebiersmith(a)gmail.com or by phone: 281-309-0302 if you'd like to swap any stories. Thank you for contacting me!
Denise Biersmith

Hi Denise
Do you mean James Virgil Raney?
His parents, John Raney and Martha Johnson were my great grandparents. James Virgil Raney younger brother Homer Thomas Raney was my grandfather. Have some info on the Raney's from Martin and Daviess Co, IN, if you would like any of that. There were 11 in that family. Would like to learn more about them. There were many tragedies in that family.

My great-grandmother is Bridget Frances Malloy and great-grandfather is James Virgil Malloy. My cousin did some research on this side of our family and created a book for each of us. I'd be happy to share any info I have with this branch of the Raney family.
