I am trying to locate ANY info on Alexander C Vaughan family who moved from Virginia around 1845 and headed west. They ended up in the Daviess county Indiana 1850 census and cant seem to locate any family after this. Any help would be great.

George James is a complete unknown. I have only the marriage date of 18 July 1865, Daviess Co, IN. Nancy Franklin was the daughter of Dr. Pleasant Franklin & wife, Mahala Davis of Washington Twp, Daviess Co, IN.
Family story gives George James the middle name of Albert, but the marriage record gave the middle initial F. Nothing else is known... age? birthplace?
By 1870, Nancy & son, Charles, were in her mother's household. By 1880, Nancy is missing too & Charles was living with her sister & her husband in Vincennes. There may have been familial unpleasantness, because Charles settled in Sullivan County, IN & never indicated to his family that he had any living relatives, let alone his mother's family only a few counties to the south.
Seeking any potential James families in the Daviess Co. area who might have had a eligible George.

I found marriage record for James Nicholas Brown and Mary Raney that indicates they were married in Daviess County, IN---if so, it probably was at either St. Mary's or St. Peter's.
Looks like parents of Mary Raney (born abt 1836 and died 7 October 1906 in Martin County, IN) were John Felix Raney (born 1804 in Washington County KY and died 21 September 1887 in Martin County IN) and Mary Neal (born 1809 in KY).

James Nicholas Brown (son of Stephen Brown and Mary (Smith) may have married a Raney. What was her name? and were her parents John Felix Raney and Mary (O'Neal)?
Did James Nicholas Brown have a daughter Rose A. Brown who married George A. Patterson?
Thank you, Marilyn (Sause Conlon) Gappa
