Terri...contact me directly at vivalarue1(a)aol.com regarding your Daviess County Akers. I have done extensive research on the Akers/Achors line (spelled both ways throughout the generations) who settled in the Raglesville area. There are at least two different Akers/Achors lines that settled in the Daviess, Martin, and Greene counties area. Interesting to note the Ellis line. Nancy Ellis married Abraham Akers/Achors in Kentucky and migrated to Indiana in the early 1800's. Their stones still exist in the Raglesville cemetery. My great grandmother was one of Abraham's descending Achors. Nina

Since that posting in 1999, we have identified the three people on the ferry: Ggrandparents Francis Marion Fields 1855-1938 & wife Melissa Jane Dean Fields 1855-1935 and their son George. Their daughter Melissa Jane Fields 1880-1956 m John Isaac Carr 1876-1937 and lived in Elnora. Their son Bert Sylvester Carr 1903-1976 ran the Ferry just before the bridge was built. I will send an attachment of the photo to your personal email. Thanks to cousin Linda Slinkard, our common ggrandparents were identified.
Surnames are those connected to this Carr/Fields family.
