William. Don't know if you received my last email about Jesse and Jenny Cobb who were married in Jefferson Co, TN. and died in Daviess Co, IN. I have searched high and low for their burial place there in Daviess Co, IN. They also had a son buried there by the name of Thomas, who died in Daviess Co in 1844. Can't find him either or his brother, Henry who died there in 1853. What do you know about Jesse and Jenny (Jane) Driskell Cobb? I have never found who Jesse's parents were.

Does anyone know who the father of Matilda Harmon who married Lewis Isham, Rebecca Harmon who married William G. Edwards, or Fanny Harmon who married William also. Is it THomas Harmon?
Hello.. I'm looking for information on Catherine Elizabeth Smith Goff's
family. She was born July 28, 1901 in Washington, died April 29, 1967 in
Evansville. She married Cecil Ira Goff(b Aug 12, 1898, d. Aug 8, 1973) on
Nov 27, 1919 in Davies county.
I believe her father's name may have been William Patrick and her mother's
name may have been Catherine Eagan. She had two sisters, Mary Walsh and
Betty Holland and a brother Frank or Frances(May have died close to 1940).
They were Catholic.
She had 12 children 6 girls 6 boys. 3 of the girls died in infancy.
I would like to find out any and everything I can.
Thank you so much.

Michael J. Gough:
I am not a relative of this family; however, I believe I went Saint
Benedict Grade School, in Evansville, IN in the 1st through third
grades with Richard A. Goff, born 1938. I do not recall him
graduating from St. Benedict. Perhaps the parish office could help
find more information. His obituary said he graduated from Benjamin
Bosse High School (I would guess about 1956) which is less than a
mile south of Saint Benedict. I did not know any of his siblings.
And although my dad's family is from Daviess Co, IN I did not
recognize any of the surnames in Cecil and Catherine's family.
I did look on a web site maintained by Charles Browning, a former
funeral director in Evansville. He maintains a rather large database
of people in the local area. http://browning.evpl.org/
I found Richard's marriage to Dianah in the People area and his death
info in the Obituary section of the database. The obituary section
has more leads that may prove helpful to the person you are trying to
help. I have used the database to find quite a few of my relatives.
I hope this information will be of help.
May Richard rest in peace.

Alonzo's birth location doesn't match with the KY listed for Cecil's father. Your best bet is to order the SS Death Index App and see what if says to see if it matches with this census. If not, contact me with the names and I'll again on the census for you.

The best way to find his parents is to order his Social Security App. You can print the SS-5 letter off of the SS Death Index on rootsweb.com.
Cecil Goff 12 Aug 1898 Aug 1973 47714 Evansville Vanderburgh IN
It should cost $27 and it should list his parents' names because Cecil would have filled out the app.

Andy,
This is the first I have heard that Jeremiah was married to Priscilla Mudd.
Long ago I saw many discussions in Rootsweb that Priscilla was/was not married to a Thomas Riney m. in 1783.
2nd Thomas may have m. Sarah Shircliffe.
I would be very interested in yer sources.

Marilyn, I have gone back over some of my information. Jeremiah Raney was married first to Priscilla Mudd. Their son Joseph 1772/1845 married Ruth Silver 1775/1823 on Feb 2, 1802 in Washington County, Kentucky. About 1816 their youngest son James Washington Raney was born. Before 1839 James Washington married Mary Elizabeth Ross. I believe that she was related to and probably a sister of Sophia Ross who was married to Keros S. Johnson, my gg-gfather's brother. I have a letter written in 1853 from Keros to his mother Ann Johnson/Lemar wherin he is lamenting the fact that he was alone and lonely because he had taken his family down to Milam, Texas and (Mary) Elizabeth insisted that Sophia and the children must stay over. Keros had returned to his home in Marlin, Falls, Texas and would not be able to return for them for several months. James Washington's brother Martin Greenberry Raney also lived in the area.
This family has been very dificult to research due to multi-generational families caused by multiple marriages and the re-use of names by siblings. It is obvious that all of the Raney/Rineys are related. The "biiiiiggggg" question is how.
You previously asked about Julius Johnson's parents. He apparently was from New York. I believe that his father was Sheldon Johnson in the Oneida area. The settlers of that area originally came from Connecticut about the time of the Revolution. I have been concentrating on this branch for several years. I have developed much information, but have been unable to get all of the pieces to fit. I may have to go to Washington County, Ky. and examine more records. I went to Martin County, Indiana last year and the trip was very productive.

Very interesting Dan. It's great that you know so much and have it in a good story-telling format.
Do you know more about Jeremiah Riney Raney and Mary Joan?
and their children?
My Maryland to Kentucky ancestors were Raney, Riney, Carrico, Keith, Cissell, Summers, Tewell, O'Brien, Moore,
and they came to Martin and Daviess Co, IN. The McCord's went from PA to KY to IN.
My Pop's ancestors were all from Ireland and came to Daviess Co, IN, Sause, Bradley, O'Connor, Conway, Downey, Fitzgibbon, Lundergan.
Thanks Marilyn Gappa
