My husband is a descendent of Jeremiah Riney and Mary Joan Sheehan, who are listed in your query.
I do not have birth information for Jeremiah, but I do have his death before 1840 in Martin County, Indiana, with his burial in St. Rose Cemetery, Loogootee, Martin County, Indiana.
I have been given two dates for his marriage - one of 23 Dec 1797 and one of January 1800, to Mary Joan Sheehan in Washington County, KY. Mary Joan Sheehan was a widow of Alexander Moore.
Mary Joan (Polly) Sheehan was born about 1767 in Ireland and is buried (1845) in St. Rose Cemetery, Martin County, Indiana.
A source I found on rootsweb.com says "they came to Indiana in the year of 1818, settled in Martin County, near Mount Pleasant (one mile South of Loogootee, Indiana). Jeremiah's cousins Clement, Joseph, and Robert also came".
One source I found also says that Polly's mother came as well, and married Thomas Rosche, although I haven't investigated any of this yet.
My husband is descended from their daughter, Elizabeth Henrietta "Hester" Raney who married James Crooks. I have further details on her family line to present if you need further info.
Good luck!
Hi, I am working on a Jerger line of Daviess CO who had several children marry into my Dubois County lines. Can anyone help me with this line-- John Jerger and wife Mary Regina Schmidt? both died in the 1950's. A daughter married a Joseph Petz-- that is the name I have now, it may not be exactly correct. Would anyone have access to the births/baptisms of the children of these two? And does John tie into the Dubois CO Jergers? I also have a Goodwin/Chapman line that was in Daviess CO during the early 1800's. Thanks.
