Samuel was born in England about 1863 to John and Elizabeth Wilkinson, both born in Scotland. That family moved to Canada about 1870, and I find them listed in ND in 1885. Samuel and 'Nannie' married in 1886 in Daviess, IN, and evidently lived there until at least 1895. They next show up in both 1910 and 1920>IN>Marion>Center censuses, indicating children George Roy, Flora, and Samuel, Jr. I can't find them anywhere in the 1900 census. In the 1930>Michigan>Calhoun>Battle Creek census, Samuel Jr. is listed as widowed, living with his brother, Roy, and mother Nannie L, 73, widowed. Have lots of questions about these folks. Thanks for any help with them,
Peggy Hendricks

You may know that William Tannehill was Lucinda Edmondson's second husband. Lucinda was first married to Julius Phipps c1857. They had three children, Amanda Jane, c1859, Oscar c 1861 and Eddie c 1867.
Lucinda Phipps married William Tannehill 6 Ap 1873 in Lawrence Co., IN.
In the 1880 Federal census, Daviess Co., IN
Tannehill, William age 48
Lucinda age 39
Edward age 13 (should probably be a Phipps)
George age 7
Della age 4
John age 3
Infant male age 1/12
The census taker recorded that Lucinda had "lung disease."
Not too far away from this household was the household of -
Pennington, Walter
Jennie (Amanda Jane Phipps)
Phipps, Oscar
It is possible that Lucinda died from the "lung disease" leaving several young children, including Della. It is possible that "Jennie" and her husband Walter took in Della, the younger half sister. There might be some court records that tell what happened to Lucinda.
I found no cemetery record or death record for Lucinda Tannehill.
Della was the only Tannehill married in Daviess County, IN.
Sometime after 1900 Walter and Amanda Jane Phipps Pennington moved to Texas.
Oscar Phipps stayed in Lawrence Co., IN.
I did not find out anyhing about Edward.
Hope this is of help to you in your search.

Another possibility is that Clement Riney and Susannah Montgomery may be the parents of Anne Delia Riney who m. Robert O'Brien. Clement Riney m. Susannah Montgomery 4/23/1793. Anne Delia was born ca. 1794-95. The surety for Clement and Susannah's marriage was Henrietta Montgomery who was probably Susannah's mother. Clement Riney and Robert O'Brien signed the marriage bond for the 1812 marriage of Robert O'Brien & Anne Delia Riney.

Dear Barbara and Family,
This is a real pleasure to be in contact with you via Rootsweb. You are the 150th Indiana family of a serviceman we have located, a real milestone for Apple, and me. We know our contributing volunteers will be pleased too.
First, I am sending this message thru Rootsweb so others that might be following the information of Marion J. Wildridge and can also be informed. Secondly we will be sending a free photo of the gravesite of Marion and four batches of other photos so you can all see how nicely the memorial is honoring his Supreme Sacrifice. We will send the photos to your email address listed here at Rootsweb, the one at ipa.net. If your email address has changed since you listed it here please contact us immediately and inform us so we can direct these important photos to the proper email account.
We hope your family has a photo of him in uniform that we can display on our Indiana Soldiers & Sailors website. Sending a scanned image is the best for us and we would proudly display his photo with the others. We also welcome any information about his military service or how he met his death. Our intention is to offer the best recollection and info to honor all of the men.
Also we are doing extensive research on all of the men and since we have heard from you we will immediately place the 583rd Signal Air Warning Battalion at the top of our list.
We truly understand how important this will be to his sister that is still living. We pray for a genuine closure and an insured peacefullness that he has not been forgotten.
Please do not forget to contact us if your email address has changed. We will send the photo of his gravesite to the email address.

I never thought to look at these War records. I have since found a family member here. Now I know where he was between the 1890 and 1900 census. Donna
