Hi
No sorry I do not. His full name was William Elmer Carrico and he died 21 FEB 1994 In Washington, Daviess Co, IN. He married Cynthia Grace Carrico, dtr of James M.Chadd & Anna E "Betty" Richardson, 17 MAR 1947. His wife is buried in St John's Catholic cemetary, Washington, Daviess Co, IN (date of death JAN 2005).
I seem to remember he was related to the GUY family of Montgomery or Cannelburg. Also the given name of Winiford, which I remember as his sister (she might be the Guy).
The 1960 Washington phone directory lists Edward L. Carrico, Robert Carrico, Ms. Zita Carrico as well as Grace.
The current 2004-2005 telephone book for Washington and surrounding areas has 25 Carrico names and about 19 McAtee listings.
Daviess Co History by L. Rex Myers lists Daniel & Louisa McAtee; Agnes, Frank, George, Mary & William Carrico- volume One, a Carrrico, Ernestine listed as going to school in Barr Twp 1920-1921; James, Jim, Pauline,Rose Mary & Sandra Carrico in Vol II.
Agnes Carrico graduated from Barr Twp common school in 1897. 1905 All Saints Parish Cannelburg became an independent parish. Father Duffey trained young boys to assist him J. Omer Bullock & Frank Carrico, giving them Latin lessons in his private residence.
Hope this helps.
Elmer & Grace have living children in Washington IN.
Cheers

Seaman Second Class Calvin Everett Leffler of Washington, Indiana in Daviess County and the United States Navy Reserve, was killed December 13, 1944, while serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. We welcome any information that would lead us to find the family of this Indiana hero.
Hello, I am a retired American residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. A year ago we visited the memorial as visitors but came home with a mission in our hearts. As we gazed over the beautifully manicured acres and the 17,202 American graves, it was obvious only a few families had ever visited their graves.
I stepped into the soft grass and focused my camera on one of the white crosses, a grave of an Ohio soldier. A strange calmness was in the air as I walked a few more steps and a cross of an Indiana soldier lay square in my path. The letters of the inscription on the marker was bolder than ever, here lay a soldier from my home state.
At that moment a quiet brainstorm aroused my humble thoughts. I wondered if I could locate any of the families of these men. My stride became more defined and within a few moments I had located and photographed eight more graves.
Since those gut-wrenching but touching moments we have energized our efforts in finding the families of these American men from Indiana. We have located well over 100 and have delivered the FREE photographs to them via email.
Please visit our website and see the men we have honored and the families we have assisted in finding a more genuine closure of a horrible tragedy.
http://fizkid.tripod.com/
Our success in finding the families was the result of journalists, amateur genealogists, historians, historical societies, librarians and lots of wonderful Hoosiers and those with Indiana ties across America.
During our search we have also reached families from other states as well and have filled special requests for photos from the Manila American Cemetery. We presently have photographed only the graves of the Indiana soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen; however we have photographed all of the names that are engraved on the "Tablets of the Missing". We offer them free of charge to anyone who asks.
We ask for your help in finding their families. We understand this is a genealogy board but we do not need immediate genealogy in that form, we need leads to find the families. Please become one of our special volunteers today and find the family of an Indiana serviceman from near your home. A list of the men from your Indiana county is available, free and all you must do is request it.

Carolyn--
There are at least two Elkannah Allens who were living about the same time and in the same places.
The Ekannah Allen who married Sally Cummings is not James Allen's son. He is the son of Elisha Allen.
Please email me if you would like more information about Elisha or Elkannah.
The James Allen you are referring to may have been Elisha or Elkannah's uncle.

Your and my Allen family are related. I am a descendent of Elisha Allen of Washington Co IN. The Allens that came to Indiana used the same naming pattern for all of their children and a group of descendents including me are trying to sort out the information we have on all of the early Allens...
We are all Allen descendents who are researching (probably at least 25 of us) from Lawence, Jackson, Monroe, Putnam, Washington Co and we know that some of these Allens had come to Daviess Co so I am trying to make contact with someone who has researched the Daviess Co Allens, has documents and knows the history of the county etc.
We could like to correct errors and that is why I am posting and asking your help. We have a lot of documents and photos etc re the Allens.
I will appreciate any further information you may share on Elkannah and other Allen family. There are at least Elkanah Allens.

Carolyn, that background shading makes your e-mail address difficult to read. You may have to first write to me directly. My address is rsbrownco(a)aol.com By the way, I have a letter that Marion F. I also have a photograph of James Perry Thomas, my great-grandfather, one of the sons of Nathan and Elizabeth Thomas.

Carolyn, I will e-mail you directly. I do, however, want to say now that the rumor about Marion and the Thomas family coming from Tennessee is incorrect. His grandparents (my g-g-grandparents) were Nathan Thomas (1801-1879) and Elizabeth Lillie (1811-1878). Nathan was of Walsh ancestry, but whether he was born in Europe or (more probably) in Pennsylvania has not been determined. Family tradition has it that Nathan was a carpenter who came to Indiana in 1835 to help build a bridge over the White River. He married Elizabeth in Indiana, 17 May 1836. They are buried in Old Calvin Cemetery east of Newberry, Greene County, Indiana.

I guess you could call Alice Catherine my step great grandmother. Marion's first wife was Mary Pate. I knew her as Grandma Anderson, Gladys Thomas' mother. The Thomas family owned a large parcel of land east of what is now Newberry. It is beautiful country. Rumour has it that Marion came north from Tennessee with his family as a small child. The first of his family to come to America came from Wales. Email me directly if you need any concrete information about Marion or his line.

Thank you Mary. We may have 3 Elkanah ALLENs. We do know that each of the brothers who came from Barren Co KY seemed to have the same naming patterns. Do you have information on Elkanah. This would help us significantly in our search. We are trying to get them straightened out.
I am coming to Indiana this year. Is there someone on the list that is an Allen descendent who knows if there is information at the Historical Society or Library re this family?
See information I have:
This is information accepted by the DAR, SAR, and the Society of Indiana Pioneers:
Elkannah Allen was named in Elisha Allen's will and his name appears next to Sarah Allen's in the 1820 Indiana Washington County census.
Elkannah Allen was living in Lawrence County at the time of the 1830 Indiana census.
He had married Sally Cummings there in 1827.
James Jasper Allen was born in Jackson County, Indiana July 31, 1832. He was the son of Elkannah Allen and Sally Cummings Allen.
Elkannah was living in Jackson County at the time of the 1840 Indiana census.
Elkannah was living in Martin County, Mitchelltree township, at the time of 1850 Indiana census. His son James Jasper Allen was living in Washington County, Jackson township, at the time of 1850 census.
James Jasper Allen was living in Martin County, McCameron township, at the time of the 1860, 1870, and 1880 census. 1890 census records burned in courthouse fire.
His son James Noah Allen was born there March 12, 1860.
James Noah Allen's son John Thomas Allen was born there February 26, 1887.
John Thomas Allen's son Carl was born there September 3, 1918.
Thank you for your help.

Hi, Betty:
Thank you for your reply. I would say, right now, what I am most interested in is any Scott's buried in Daviess County, IN. My Scott family was from Waco, IN near Alfordsville and Glendale, IN. All in Harrison Township. I am looking for my GG Grandparents: John B. Scott born abt 1811 Ky died bef. 1880 and Mary Hannah Scott b. 1804 PA. died after 1880. In 1880 Census Mary Hannah Scott is Widowed living with her daughter, Harriet Scott Edwards and her Husband John Edwards in Harrison Twp., Daviess County, IN. I suspect they are buried at Mt. Zion/High Rock Cemetery. It is located between Waco and the White River; which, divides Daviess and Pike County, IN. I tried to find it, but it is way back in the sticks in the lower river bottoms. Was unsuccessful in getting there.
I have seen an arial view of what use to be Waco, IN. You can still see how the town was laid out and where the houses use to be. Much like the town I live in here in Knox County, Wheatland, IN.
With my GG Grandparents -- I can not find anything on them before they were married in Dearborn County, IN on October 1838. So, there is like about 30 years missing. They were with children in 1850 in Dearborn/Ohio County, IN and by 1860 Census they were in Daviess County, IN. Is there such a thing -- as an 1870 Census? I never have been able to find one.
I would really like to find out when my Grandparents died and where, for sure, they are buried. Mary Hannah Scott died after 1880 and John B. Scott before 1880. I also, keep hoping I will be able to find siblings and parents of both. I have had no luck. This is my brick wall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
