"MORTUARY.
Thomas S. PRUETT, husband of Margaret PRUETT, was born in Orange County, Ind., May 2, 1825, and at the age of fifteen he professed hope in Jesus and united with the Methodist church, wherein he remained till 1864, when he moved his membership to the United Brethren church. All this time and until his death he lived a devoted Christian life. He was a zealous worker in the vineyard of the Master. A kind and good neighbor and beloved by all who knew him.
On Dec. 22, 1847 he was united in marriage to Margaret FISHER with whom he lived until the day of his death, which occurred May 25, 1900. Forty nine years of this time he lived on the farm where he died. To this union were born ten children, five of whom have passed on to the spirit land. He leaves a wife, one son, four daughters and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
He bore his afflictions for a long time and when at last the death Angel came and layed it's icy hands upon him, he departed from this earthly home taking with him a bright smile.
His remains were laid to rest Sunday, May 27 in Mt. Olive Cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Breden.
Moth and children left all alone,
But one by one we will soon be gone
To greet a Father from far above;
From a world of trouble to one of love.
Brothers and sisters left here to weep
Over one who is taking a rest and sleep,
He has entered now at the Savior's door,
And he will be on this earth no more, no more.
Farewell my wife and children all,
From you another, Christ doth call.
Mourn not for me, it is in vain,
To call me to your sight again.
C. W. H."

right it might be a good fit.Even if it is I still don`t know what happened to Clifford between 1880&1900
I wood also like to know more about Evan D. Davis . If you find anything more please lot me know.

Joseph M. BOYD, ex-county commissioner and for many years trustee of Elmore township, is almost blind from a cataract which has formed over his eyes, but his mind is as clear as in the days of his youth, says the Elnora News. For several years his eyes have been failing and he has spend much time and money in an effort to remove the obstruction which now hides his vision. He has consulted the best medical skill of Cincinnati and other cities to no purpose.
Until within the last few days Mr. BOYD has been able with the aid of a cane to find the way from his home, two miles east of Elnora, to town, and could enter any business house that he had been in the habit of frequenting. Now he is debarred from these privileges and it becomes necessary for some one to direct him. To one who has been so active in the business world the loss of sight is a sad misfortune. Mr. BOYD bears his loss with great patience."

"DEATH CLAIMS PIONEER RESIDENT TUESDAY NIGHT.
Death claimed one of Odon's pioneer citizens and business men Tuesday night when Zimri M. GARTEN passed on, at his home on South Spring Street. Mr. GARTEN had been ill the past two weeks but became seriously ill about two days prior to his death. Deceased was a son of William and Margaret GARTEN who came to this state in the early 1800's and took up a federal land grant of some 2,000 acres in the community about Springville in Lawrence County. Zimri was born July 7th, 1860 and was past 84 years of age at the time of his death. His education was received from the public schools of that period and he attended several terms of Normal at Odon. On April 18th, 1880 he was united in marriage to Mary E. McCOY who with three children survive. The children are Mrs. Clyda FRAZIER and Ray GARTEN of Indianapolis and Dennis GARTEN of this city. He also leaves one brother Harve GARTEN of near Raglesville, aged 89, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. GARTEN was for many years in the mercantile business in Odon. He served two terms as County Assessor and for the past fifteen years has been president of the Odon-Madison Telephone Co. which office he held at the time of his death. He was a member of the Church of Christ Scientist of Washington and was the oldest member of the local K. of P. lodge. Pronounced in his convictions he was a fearless exponent of right living and the equality of man. A clear keen mind, with a vivid memory of the history of Odon's early days, made him an unfailing source of information in regard to the events of the past.
Funeral services were held at Poindexter's Chapel Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock with Rev. Ernest Roberts in charge. Burial was made at Walnut Hill cemetery."
As a follow-up on my earlier list mail in which I mention the replica
Baskin-Forster 1876 Historical Atlas of Indiana:
The ISBN of the replica volume is ISBN 0-87195-059-6 and it was first
put out in 1968 by the Indiana Historical Society. The IHS web site has
the 1999 printing on sale for $16.00, which I find quite reasonable. It
is chock full of information of the type Mr. Green mentions for his much
more expensive CDs.
