Bio says she was born in Knox Co. in 1839.

He married Emma Wooten Oct 16, 1953 and she survives. Ward was a retired self employed painter and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a 50 year member of Glen Dale Masonic Lodge. Davis Funeral To Be Saturday
Mrs Mildred Evelyn Davis, 63, Portersville Road died at 6:30 a.m. today at the Daviess County Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of George T. Davis, who survives her. She was a member of First Christian Church. She was born April 28, 1907, a daughter of Mrs Ella Wildridge Radcliff and the late Elijah E Radcliff. Besides her husband and mother she leaves four daughters, Mrs Eugene (Marjorie) Porter, and Mrs. Bill (Virginia) Goodwin, both of Washington; Mrs Ronald (Carolyn) Lehr, Evansville, and Mrs Eugen (Norman) Talarek, Highland, Ind. There are nine grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother Malcolm Radcliff and one sister Mrs Wilbur (Lucy) Wise, both of Washington township. Funeral services will be conducted by J. Spencer Arnold at the First Christian Church at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Bethany cemetery. Friends may call at the Gill funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday. The casket will be taken to the church at noon saturday and friends may visit there after 1 p.m. The casket will not be opened after the service.

Montgomery Rutledge. She married Gaither P Davis Aug 20, 1920 and he died Sept 5, 1978. She was a member of the Aikman Creek Baptist Church and the Cumback Homemakers Club. Surviving are one daughter and three sons, Mrs Oral (Betty) Pride and Kenneth Davis, both of Washington, Ind. and Leon Davis Silver Springs, Fla. and Robert Davis, Montgomery, eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and two brothers, Earl Rutledge, Rankin, Ill and Roy Rutledge, Hot Springs, Ark. Two sisters and three brothers have died.

David Davis born March 28, 1932 New Brunswick, Canada died April 23, 1885 Cridersville, Ohio Buried at Hog Creek Cem (now called St. Matthews Cem.) Cridersville, Ohio
David Davis, ed, this place, departed from this life last Thursday. Mr Davis was a victim of that dreaded disease comsumption. The remains were interred at the Hog Creek Cemetery on Friday, Rev. Holland conducted the funeral services. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father.
David Davis was the son of Mary Reese and Thomas John Davis both natives of Wales. He grew up in St. Albans Township, Licking Co Ohio. He married Elizabeth Wilson in Auglaize Co. Ohio. They had these children Ark Davis who married Magenta Parks Jones, Oak Davis who married Laura Steen, Robert Davis who married Effie Harned, Charles Davis who married Della Barber, Codella Davis who married Richard Taylor. David Davis was a Ohio vet of the civil war and died from TB contracted while in service.

Ed was my step grandfather. The lady who forwarded the obit, some of which follows, sent me copies of their obituaries and a picture of Ed with Minnie Shephard, Bessie Clark Matteson, Charlie Clark & Owen Clark. I'll send your query to her. Perhaps she'll reply also. This is all the information I have.
I have an obituary reporting the death of Ed Clark, who lived at Route One, Washington, DaviessCo IN, but passsed away while a resident of Colvin Nursing Home.
He was a lifelong resident of Daiess County, born August 13, 1876, the son of Miles and Ellen (White) Clark. He was married Novmber 7, 1896 to Minnie Shepard wh died February 21, 1945 and his second marriage was on January 15, 1949 to Minnie Chadd who died January 22, 1957.
He leaves three children: Mrs Bessie Mattison of Sierra Vista, AZ and Charles and Owen Clark of this city (Washington IN) and 8 step children all...all Chadd's my Minnie's children from her marriage to Thomas Chadd.
Obit said 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, a half brother SamuelClark, Colvin Nursing Home, and a half sister Mrs. Della Gray Otwell.

Final Rites Held for Charles Davis, 81, of Payette
Charles Davis died March 4, in an Ontario hospital just six days before his 82nd birthday. Services were held under the direction of Rev. Stanley Andrews in the Shaffer Memory chapel with interment following at Hillcrest Cemetry, Weiser.
Mr. Davis was born March 10, 1871 in Criderville, Ohio. He was married to Della May Barber March 20, 1892 in Washington, Indiana. Mrs Davis passed away in 1936. The couple lived in Indian Valley until 1922 when they moved to Payette. Mr Davis is survived by two daughters, Mrs Ethel Wisbey, Yakima, Wash; Mrs Flora Farra, Payette; two sons Walter and David Davis Portland; one sister, two half-sisters, four grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
*note should say one 1/2 sister..who was Carrie Stall Yarbourgh, the sister was Della Davis Taylor, he had these brothers Ark, Robert, Oak Davis. He was the son of Elizabeth Wilson and David Davis, and step son of William Stall. He and Della had 8 children. Mrs Charles Davis
Funeral services for Mrs Charles Davis were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Weiser Baptist Church with Rev. L. G. Frasier of Caldwell officiating, asisted by Rev. K. A.. Nelson of Payette and the Baptist minister of Wieser. Della May Barber was born April 23, 1873 near Washington, Indiana. She was the youngest child of Samuel and Ellen (Horrall) Barber. On March 20, 1892 she was married to Charles Davis and in September, 1910 they came to Idaho from Indiana and settled at Indian Valley where they made their home for thirteen years. Mrs Davis was baptised into the Methodist church when a young girl. There were eight children born to Mr and Mrs Davis, four having preceded her in death; two in infancy, one daughter twenty months old and one son six years old. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Walter of Payette, David of Vancouver, Washington; two daughters, Flora of Payette and Ethel Wisbey of Rochester, Washington; four grandchildren, Daniel and David Dav!
is of Payette and Lyle and Carol Wisbey of Rochester, Washington; one brother, Hiriam Barber of Washington, Indiana; two sisters Mrs Margaret Goodwin of Washington, Indiana and Mrs Flora Colbert of Denver, besides several nieces and nephews in the east. Mrs Daivs died at her home in payette June 8, 1936 at the age of sixty-three years, one month an sixteen days.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs Ralph (Joan) Holstine, Cornettsville, Miss Sharon Rose Killion, at home, and Mrs Stephen (Sandra Kay) Meade, Washington; seven sons, Donald of Steele township, Harold of Veale township, Harley jr of Harrison township, Hugh, Lester and Richard Lee Killion all of Washington, and Jerry Killion, New Castle; 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Gaither Parks Davis 79, died at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday at the Daviess Co Hospital. He had been seriously ill for one month. A Daviess County native he was born May 14, 1899 to Ark and Magenta (Parks) Davis. He married Hallie E Rutledge on Aug 20, 1920 and she survives. A retired farmer, painter and interior decorator, he was a lifetime member of the Painters and Allied Trades Union and the Aikman Creek Baptist Church. He attended Veale township schools. Surviving are his wife one daughter, Mrs Opal (Betty) Pride, two sons, Leon and Kenneth Davis Washington, Robert, Montgomery; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, George of Washington and Clifford, Tampa Fla. Three sisters have died. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Gill Chapel. Burial will be in Aikman Creek cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday.

He was born Feb 20, 1903 in Daviess County to Ark and Magenta Parks Davis. He married Mildred Radcliffe on May 1, 1930 and she died Jan 20, 1971. He married Cora E Bowen on Oct 29, 1974 and she survives. He was a self employed painting contractor and had also operated his own cabinet making shop for many years. He established Sundale Trailer Court in 1950. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Men's Bible Class there. Also surviving are four daughters Marjorie Porter, Vincennes, Mrs Ronald (Carolyn) Lehr, Evansville, Mrs Eugen (Norma) Talerek, St John's Ind. and Mrs Bill (Virginia) Goodwin, Washington. Mrs Elizabeth Barber Dies At Father's Home
Husband In U.S. Army, Arrives At Home Shortly Before Death.
Mrs. Elizabeth Barber, wife of William H. Barber, died at 7:30 o'clock Sunday evening at the home of her father, Ark Davis, in Veale township. Her death followed an illness of less than two weeks. Her husband, who is in the army and has been stationed at Camp Meade, in response to a telegram, arrived home a short time before his wife's death. Mrs. Barber was twenty three years of age in November. Besides her husband, she leaves three brothers, Gaither, George, and Clifford, and two sisters Mary and Mildred. She was a member of the Aikman's Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held from the church some time tuesday the hour was not announced and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Elizabeth was pregnant when she died. She married Wm Barber 3/3/1918. He was the son of Hiram and Willlemiana McKnight Barber. Elizabeth died of uraemic poison and flu complications.

Ark Davis 70 retired Veale township farmer died at the local hospital at 1 o'clock Sunday morning. Mr Davis had been taken to the hospital two days before his death. He had been in failing health for a year and serioiusly ill for the past six months. Mr Davis was born on May 7, 1869 in Cartersville, Ohio. His parents were David and Elizabeth Wilson Davis. He married Magenta Parks who preceded him in death in 1941. Mr Davis came to Daviess County in 1888. He was a member of the Aikman Creek church where funeral services will be held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Survivors are five children Gaither Davis and Mrs Mary Killion, Veale township, George Davis, Washington township. Mrs Mildred Ward Bogard township. Clifford Davis U. S. Navy. A daughter Elizabeth Davis Barber died in 1918. Brothers and sisters surviving are Charles Davis of Payette, Idaho and Della Taylor and Carrie Yarbrough, both of this city 21 grand and two great grandchildr!
