I have information on this couple. Did you ever get what you needed? If not, I can give you some stuff.
Just a note:
Our Carr family from a farm just outside Elnora shared an oil well with
Cunningham, next property.
Our ggrandfather Wm Carr 1855-1938 and wife Eliza Smallwood 1854-1906 lived
there; then his son John Isaac Carr 1876-1937 m Melissa Jane Fields and m
2nd Belva Malone Overton lived there; then our father Bert Sylvester Carr
inherited the farm; as we did in 1976.
Do you know which Cunningham lived on farm JUST outside Elnora?
Thanks,
John Carr

> Hi William,

> I was down there 20, 25 years ago and did a lot of walking, hunting,
researching, etc.. There was one Cunningham family I kept coming across, a
Michael Cunningham who was no relation to my Cunninghams. But he kept
popping up everywhere as if he was of some import. Mine settled, beginning
in 1837, bought some public land and other, along, I think it is 1000 east
of Odon, along that road up to 1400 north where that church is just west of
the intersect of 1000 and 1400. 1400 is a mile north of 57 or 58 whichever
runs east-west. That used to be called the Old Bunkum Church. My
great-grandfather and his brother who served in the war are buried there.
had five families along that mile stretch. My interest began with trying to
find all my civil war Cunninghams, many in that group and
> some with a Rezin down in Van Buren Twnshp, the sixth member of the
conclave. Just east of that church, on the northwest corner, a Goolman
Cunningham had 40 acres. His family is buried in Odon. Also, a brother of
my great, great, Thomas and his family are in Old Bethany in Washington.
These were all Cunninghams from the same settlement down in Clark County
along the river that migrated to Daviess. (After all these years, I can
never spell that correctly)
> Do you know Tom Brummett, the civil war historian down there in
Washington? A really great guy who has tried to help me find my lost
'heroes.'
> Thanks for the info. The people you mentioned, we had about three Johns,
but they were all born around 1850 or before. My census records are buried
in this big box in the closet that I have to have my son pull out and put
back, the thing has become so crammed with all this genealogy stuff.

Mary Fyock,
This Ambrose Hubbard is definitely Hubbard's son. Hubbard and James's
Father & Mother were James W.B. and Sabia. That would make your James a jr.
James sr. Father was John and his Mother was Ruth Crook. John's father was
James and his Mother was Elizabeth Crook. Both born arounf 1720.

Mary Ann,
I think it's the right guy, though the son may actually have been a step-son.
Background I have:
I was searching in the 1900 census for James Arthur McGuire, born 25
Jun 1886, son of James Peter McGuire and Melissa Lanham.
In Perry twp, Martin Co, Indiana, I found:
Richard H Brewer, head, age 55, married 9 yr, b Aug 1844 in Indiana
Annie " , wife, age 38, married 9 yr, 0/0 children still
alive, b 1852 in Indiana
Arthur McGuire, nephew, age 13, b 1887 in Indiana.
In the Indiana marriage index, I found:
Index to Marriage Record 1850 - 1920 Inclusive
Volume II Letters G to M Inclusive
Daviess County, Indiana
County: Daviess
Name: Anna Lanham
Spouse: Richard H Brewer
Marriage Date: 21 Apr 1891
Book: 7
Original Source Page: 261
James Arthur usually was called "Arthur". Ruth Anna Lanham and
Melissa were sisters, the daughters of Henry Lanham and Martha Ellen
Carrico.
James Peter McGuire was my GG grandfather. Although James Peter
McGuire didn't live with his son in 1900, he must have kept close
contact, because my dad stayed with Arthur and his wife a short time
before Arthur died in the late 1960's.

Is this the James Love who married Mary Harpole in 6 May 1894 in
Henderson, Kentucky (near Evansville, Indiana). Several of my
Daviess County people later showed up in Evansville, following the
railroad and coal jobs, I think.
