JoAnn...
There is a national web site for the AOH. The URL is
http://www.aoh.com/, and, as you probably know, the American
organization is a Catholic, Irish American Fraternal Organization
founded in New York City in 1836. The section "on becoming a member" has
some interesting historical material, however a cursory glance did not
reveal any way to contact the AOH. Perhaps poking around in the various
pages will get you an address of the national offices. I am "cc'ing"
this to the list.

Does anyone know if old records for this organization exists or where I can write to find out?
I have a very old badge for them that belonged to a family member.
JoAnn
Abraham F. Stoy owned and operated a coal mine near Raglesville before
the turn of the (19th) century.
The Indiana Coal Mine Information System contains a detailed map of Coal
Deposits near Raglesville, but does not identify which of these might be
related to the Stoy mine. Does anyone know the location of this old
mine? I have the Odon Quadrangle USGS map for coordinates.
The 1876 Baskin Forster Atlas shows only one location of coal in Van
Buren Twp., near the southeast corner of Section 3 of T 4N R 4W. Is this
relevant? The only other statements this particular map makes about coal
in Daviess Co. are along the Q & M RR east of Washington (Montgomery and
Cannelburg).
Any other comments, e.g. historical, about this mine would also be most
welcome. Stoy is in my extended family.
Thanks,
John Ragle

All I have is that there is an "Old Mrs. Fields" who was buried at St. Rose
Cemetery, Springfield, Washington Co, KY on 17 Aug 1835. (Parish Register #1
pg 126)
Possible brothers for Joseph Fields:
Wilfred Miles Fields b. abt 1798 m. Sarah Yates
Philip Fields b. abt 1800 m. Susan Yates
James Fields b. abt 1800 m1) Anna Montgomery; m2) Herodia Rose Jones
Wilfred Miles Fields and his son, Richard Miles bear the middle name of
Miles...so I wonder if Old Mrs. Fields was a Miles before marriage to Mr. Fields??
Hmmm.

I have in my data base, the Nancey Julia Spalding, daughter of James I.

middle name is Julia not Jane. Any idea which is correct? My info came
from the 1890's book, "SPALDING Family."
Hi Chuck,
Do you know the author of this book? It's new to me and I would love to
know more about it. Does the author cite a source for Nancey Julia?
I'm thinking the name Anna Jane probably came from the marriage record, not
sure. Been a long while since I worked on this!

Joyce, You posted on the Daviess Co board:

I have a Raphael Ash who married Mary Ann Seals 21 Nov 1840 in Daviess Co,

Wonder if anyone else is more information on the Ash family? Who was the
first Ash to Daviess Co, IN? Thanks!
