Dear Esther, Hello, distant cousin. Did you get a reply from me yesterday? Just as I sent it my server locked up on me so I have the feeling it didn't get sent. My mother and grandmother, Rowena's daughter and granddaughter, always laughted that Rowena had six kids and 5 husbands but the husbands were not necessarily the father of the children. Hiram, who is supposed to be the father of the kids, left Rowena around 1890ish and she then married a neighbor who is reported on the census as married with kids. This did not work out and she married a Elmus Brain, moved to California, specifically Lemon Grove outside of San Diego. I've actually found and visited the place where they were chicken farming in 1910. Something happened with that marriage and she returned to OK to live with her kids until she died in 1920 from diabetes --- just before insulin became the treatment mode. Julie England, who I think you put me in contact with, thinks she may have had another husband!
(or more) somewhere in there. What do you know about Mary Almira? I am at a dead end with her. I have pictures of Rowena and one of Rowena with Mary Almira --- or so I was told. Any info you have would be of intereset to me. Kay
