Hi, new to the list and I need some help. I am attempting to locate who or
whom my ggggrandfather bought his land from. I know the range and section
info, but I was wondering if there were anything such as "tract books, or
tract range books" that I have heard about in other counties.
I am also trying to find any information about the same ggggrandfather prior
to his marriage in 1859 in Daviess Co. I know that he was a "teamster"
according to the 1860 census, and we think that he may have worked for the
railroad, but are not sure.
Does anyone know when the John and Martha "Patsy" Noland family arrived in
Daviess County, or possibly when Harvey E. McMillin arrived there?
I would appreciate any help.
Thank you,
Jennifer in Oregon

Would this be his parents? I have a little more on the Vannoys in Ohio too.
Looks like they were in Indiana before 1826.
The Family History Library (with branches everywhere) has microfilmed those

Victim's Age: 46
Victim's occupation: mechanic
Nearest town to accident site: Cannelburg
Description of the accident: Robert D. Bowles, 46, Birdseye, was attempting to repair a pit truck at 2:21 p.m. at the wash plant on CR 900E, south of U.S. 50. According to police reports, the truck's transmission was stuck between first and second gear. Bowles had removed the drive shaft at which point the truck rolled forward trapping Bowles under the front rear tandem. For the past 5 or 6 years I have been developing "Coal Mine Fatal Accident Alerts" and transmitting them to several of my peers (40 or 50) in the coal mine safety community of Kentucky and West Virginia. I try to do these as soon as possible after the accident. I am aware that a surface coal mine powered haulage fatality occurred on July 10 in your area (Craney Mine of Solar Sources, Inc. - Daviess County). I have searched the newspapers in southern Indiana and have been unable to find anything on this event. Could you please email me the following information on the accident?
*Victim's name
*Victim's age
*Victim's occupation/job title
*Nearest town or post office to accident site
*A brief description of the accident (what happened)
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
