Gene,
Most of us do stupid things at least once a day, but the internet has made
it more public. (: Your John Hendrickson
4 is probably a bit too young to have been a father to Rachel Hendrixson,
but I'm keeping all this data on Daviess Co Hendricksons, just in case.
Thanks for the added info.

Surname: Hendrickson, Bird, Strange, Moore, Patterson
-------------------------
Sharon, I feel like an idiot. Separate Hendrickson is part of my group
in Shelby Co.
Shelby County did not ring a bell, sorry.
The following may help you.
Gene
Descendants of Separate Hendrickson
Generation No. 1
1. SEPARATE3 HENDRICKSON (WILLIAM2, SEPARATE1) was born Abt. 1789 in Mercer
County, Kentucky, and died 1838 in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana.
He married (1) SALLY BIRD September 30, 1805 in Nelson County, Kentucky,
daughter of JOSHUA BIRD. He married (2) SUSANNA PATTERSON December 11,
1817 in Lincoln County, Kentucky.
Notes for SEPARATE HENDRICKSON:
Sally Bird married Separate Hendrickson, Nelson County, Kentucky
Signed Bond: Joshua Bird
Bond: Sept. 30, 1805
[Consent in person: Joshua Bird; Father of Sally]
Just down the road from Separate in 1850 lives Aaron Henderson (Hendrickson)
his brother, see his notes.
Notes for SALLY BIRD:
Sally (Bird) and Separate Hendrickson had five children, they may have
been all girls, very little is known about them. The Bird's, Stranges,
Hendricksons and Moore's were all in Kentucky and Indiana at the same time
and did in fact inter-marry.
Sally may have died in child birth before 1815 because Separate re-married
in 1817. There is however a record of a Sally Bird being married to a David
Owen in Barren County, Kentucky on 12/30/1810. It is unclear if it is the
same Sally.
Notes for SUSANNA PATTERSON:
In 1850 The Census for Van Buren township of Daviess County Ind. shows
several Patterson families living near Separate and Susanna.
There are a large number of Patterson families on the 1795 tax list for
Kentucky.
most likely father for her is, Jamey Patterson in Washington County, or
John Patterson in Mercer County. The Hendrickson Families lived mostly
in Mercer County and in Washington Counties. Mercer and Washington are
adjoining Counties.
Children of SEPARATE HENDRICKSON and SUSANNA PATTERSON are:
i. JOHN4 HENDRICKSON, b. Abt. 1821; m. MELINDA ___.
Notes for JOHN HENDRICKSON:
The 1850 Census of Van Buren Township in Daviess County Ind.
shows the following group, Census Takers were not the best at getting names
right when many times a person could not spell himself.
Henderson, John 29 Farmer Ky Van Buren
Henderson, Melinda 19 Ind Van Buren
ii. PLEASANT HENDRICKSON, b. Abt. 1827.
2. iii. MARTIN HENDRICKSON, b. May 28, 1834, Indiana; d. December 02, 1919,
Lincoln, Lincoln County, Kansas.
3. iv. WILLIAM R. HENDRICKSON, b. March 05, 1837, Indiana; d. December
02, 1885, Lincoln, Lincoln County, Kansas.
v. EMILY HENDRICKSON, b. Abt. 1839.

I got the impression of a connection by surfing websites and finding a
Separate Hendrickson in Shelby Co. I guess it's possible they are unconnected,
but I suspect not. Migration paths are interesting to follow, and the Shelby/Orange/Martin/Daviess
would be reasonable. Perhaps someone else can tell more.

Debby,
I have this, and that's about it...William H. Myers b. abt 1894 in Daviess
Co, IN, m. 19 Aug 1919 to Margaret Padgett in Daviess Co, IN. William H.
Myers was a grandson of Lincoln Myers.
This is not my line. Margaret Padgett Myers was my grandfather's second
wife.
I don't know if there is a connection, but there might be some clues.

My research has never proven a link to the Shelby County Hendricksons,
however, I am NOT the last word on those lines. Shelby is not all that
far from Daviess County. Most of my clan seemed to be in areas of Orange,
Martin, and Daviess Counties, in that time frame. Perhaps someone else
could clarify or link to your line.

Does anyone have access to old newspapers in Daviess Co?
I would be interested if there were an obituary for John William Robinson
born 3 Nov 1858 in Daviess Co and died 17 Sep 1902 in Elnora, Daviess Co.

I need help with a look up in a cemetery book if someone could assist me. I have the VOL. III cemetery book of Daviess County and did not find James Gates and Sarah Ann (Smith) Gates his wife. If someone runs across it, I would like to find where they are buried and death dates. I thought they would be at St. Peter's but couldn't find them. I expect the death dates to be around 1870s.
James Gates b. ~1807, and Sara Ann b. ~1816.
Thank you,

Surname: Hendrixson, Hendrickson, Henderson, Tatum, Nulf
-------------------------
I should have thought of the HENDERSON possibility, since my gg grandmother's
maiden name was written R A HENDERSON on her daughter's marriage license.
But she wrote Rachel HENDRIXSON on her own marriage license. Rachel b abt
1836 OH was first married to William TATUM c 1855 in Tippecanoe Co then
divorced unknown date. She remarried Jacob NULF 1880 White Co IN. By 1882
she had died. Her death certificate states that her parents were John and
Catherine HENDRICKSON. Second husband Jacob was probably the respondent.
So I don't know if she's related to the Daviess Co group or not, have just
figured out that this is also the Shelby Co IN group of HENDRICKSONS.
