I have received several marriage licenses from Daviess County from the
1879-1900 time period but none of them include information about the parents,
ages of the bride and groom, places of birth, etc. It only has the bride and
groom's name, date and place of the marriage, and the minister's name.
Does anyone know when Daviess County required marriage returns or
applications for marriage license?

Surname: Harris, Allen, McCord
-------------------------
Isaac Harris (b. 1785 PA d. 23 Jan 1863 Bur. Old Union Cem.) was an influential
land owner in Martin/Daviess Co. Indiana living near Alfordsville, right
on the border of the two counties. After raising a large family, he married
30 May 1840 in Martin Co. to Margaret Allen Vannoy McCord, a widow with
5 children, the youngest aged 14.
Though I do not have proof, the following Harrises may be children/associated
with Isaac Harris. Their names were acquired through marriage records and
would be about the right age to be his children.
Sara, Daniel, Rachel, Nicholas, Nathan, William, Nancy, Margaret.
I would like to correspond with someone who has more accurate records on
the Harris family.
